We treat the children in our care as being unique and we do not compare them, as each is special in their own way. To connect as people we take the time to listen to your concerns as a parent, your personal life and your career. For the children, we take time to sit with each child so we can get to know them and talk to them about how they feel, and what they like to see and do. We also sit with parents when they arrive to better understand what is going on in their careers and life so we can find ways to mesh our service with the families needs.

Be Consistent – Children do work hard to understand how their behaviour impacts the people around them. If your reaction to a recurring situation changes from one occasion to the next, you’ll confuse them with mixed signals and they will be unsure of the acceptable way to act.
Keep Responses Short and Simple – Speaking in short phrases, repeating the phrase, and incorporating vocal inflexions and facial expressions allow a child to absorb what you are saying more effectively. Giving children options to choose from also aids their willingness to listen.
Know Your Child’s Triggers – Some misbehaviour is preventable; if you can anticipate what will spark an outburst you can then create a plan to deal with it, such as removing tangible temptations.
Move Away From Angry reactions - As they only enhance the entertainment value for a child, please resist the urge to raise your voice. Take a deep breath, say "Peace begins with me"... and then get down to your child’s eye level to be curious about what they are going through so you can be calm, firm and consistent when you speak.
